The Chandra layout police on tuesday arrested Kannada television actor Thandaveshwar for opening fire during a heated argument with the director Bharat Navunda.
Based on the complaint,police have registered an FIR against Thandaveshwar under BNS Section 109 for attempted murder and also under Arms Act for deliberately using a weapon despite causing no danger.
Thandaveshwar was later arrested and seized his licensed weapon for further investigations.
Senior officer told reporters that the accused along with the producer visited Navunda’s office to discuss about the movie project which was stopped for few months .
Heated arguments ensued between them following which the accused pulled out a licensed weapon and fired in the air .
Luckily no one was injured in the incident and part of the ceiling damaged.
Probe revealed that,Thandaveshwar had signed the upcoming movie Devanampriya,directed by Bharat Navunda two years ago .
However, the duo couldn’t find a producer for the movie. Hence,Thandaveshwar offered to invest and spent Rs.6 lakh.
Recently, they found a Hassan-based producer funded the movie but the shooting which was stopped could not proceed.
Miffed by the development the accused had gone to get the updates and carried the weapon.This according to the police is a deliberate act and the investigations are on to ascertain the exact motive, the police, said .
The accused Thandaveshwar,who hails from Hassan acted in a TV serial and a Kannada movie .
