he Bellandur police have arrested a 31-year-old cab driver for stealing valuables worth Rs.45 lakh from the house of his former employer using duplicate keys.
The accused Siddu Kuppanna,worked as driver at the house of a private firm owner for an year.He quit the job in February last year after the owner reprimanded him over a trivial row for negligence and leaving the parking light of the car on.
Humiliated by this Siddu quit the job and the owner did not pay him few days salary.In a bid to teach him a lesson,Siddu got the duplicate key of the front door before quitting the job and waited for the opportunity.
The family meanwhile went to Bidadi for two days and returned on December 23 to find the valuables worth Rs.45 lakh were missing .
The family filed a complaint suspecting the role of a domestic help.The police questioned the domestic help and released her after confirming that she is no where involved .
The police continued investigations and verified the CCTV footage to find Siddu was moving suspiciously around the house.
Based on the information, the police picked him up for questioning where he confessed .
The police recovered 200 grams of gold which he had pawned at a gold shop and the rest of the 482 grams of gold valuables amounting to total 683 grams have been recovered .
Appreciating the good piece of investigation,City Police commissioner,B.Dayananda announced a cash reward of Rs.10,000 to Inspector Ramesh and his team.
