Inter-state Drug racket busted; 108 kg ganja seized 9 Arrested by CCB Police.

The Woman and Narcotics Wing of CCB police on Saturday seized 108 kg of ganja and arrested nine people who were allegedly transporting the contraband to Karnataka and Kerala.
A major drug haul,busted by Narcotics Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) and arrested nine people of a Kerala-based gang and recovered 108 kg of marijuana, worth Rs 50 lakh from their possession.
The accused are identified as N Nainesh alias Nyanesh, 36, the mastermind from Thrissur in Kerala, MH Anas, 26, M Shafikunju Markar, 29, TD Prajil Das, 27, all from Kochi, S Sajjan Das, 22, CK Akshay Kumar, 22, B Shinaj, 27, KM Najeeb, 25, and M Mushtak.
The ACP,Venkatesh Prasanna and his team studied all the entry and exit routes of the gang and covered them meticulously, leading to their capture this time.
Modus operandi :
Probing the gang’s modus operandi,investigation officer told reporters,we learnt that Nayanesh had contacts with a Kerala-based drug dealer Vicky, who referred him to an Odisha-based peddler, who cultivated marijuana at unclaimed land in the Naxal-infested Gajuvaka village near Srikakulam in the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border.At least one quintal of the drug was smuggled into the city every fortnight,The officer further added that Nayanesh operated from a rented house in Indiranagar’s Eashwar Layout to smuggle drugs into Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Finding his activities suspicious, the house owner had asked him to vacate the place.Nayanesh was in the notice period his owner said.The gang brought large volumes of the drug, divided it into packs of eight and 10 grams and sold each of them for Rs 300 to Rs 500 to college students and other drug takers in Ejipura, Murugeshpalya, Banaswadi, Hennur, KR Puram, Ramamurthy Nagar and other areas he added.
T Suneel Kumar, Bengaluru city police commissioner,told media persons a team led by Joint commissioner of police N Satheesh Kumar under the supervision of DCP crime,Ramnivas Sepat,received a reliable inputs that a major drug haul will be coming to bengaluru city near Indiranagar, as soon as the information was received a team of 25 members of Narcotics Wing of Central Crime Branch headed by ACP Venkatesh Prasanna and team swung into action and based on the information the special team covered the whole area as they learnt On April 4, Nainesh and his associates allegedly travelled to Odisha from Bengaluru to source ganja. The CCB learned that they would be bringing back the substance to Nainesh’s residence in Eshwarnagar, in Indiranagar. Police were waiting for him when he reached his residence around 3 a.m. on Saturday the team rounded their two cars and zeroed in all the 9 members of the gang and the two cars in which the substance was being transported have been seized.When the police inspected the vehicles, they found seven bags full of ganja,during the course of interrogation they confessed the crime and spilled the beans that.All of them were involved in selling the substance to students and other people in the city.To buy the drug in bulk, Nayanesh and his associates were required to make an online transfer of Rs 2 to Rs 3 lakh to the Odisha drug peddler’s account.They would meet the man at an isolated spot in Gajuvaka, where they needed to be first cleared of police shadowing and the possible presence of a mole in their ranks. The gang would then be directed to a different spot where large packets of ganja were loaded into their cars.Nayanesh and others used to spray perfume on the bags to prevent its smell from it.They would drive back to the city by passing the checkposts,which is their area of expertise.Nayanesh, who has passed PUC and hails from Thrissur, has cases against him in the Jeevanbheema Nagar police station and one in Thrissur, too. Both the cases are registered under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act he added.Along with the drugs, two cars, nine mobile phones and electric weighing machines have been seized.
