A total of 50 officers of Electrical Specialization Course O-169,comprising 34 from Indian Navy, 7 from Indian Coast Guard and 9 from Friendly Foreign Countries (Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Vietnam) passed out during an impressive Parade at INS Valsura, Jamnagar on 13 Oct 18. The Passing Out Parade marked the culmination of 95 weeks of professional training in Electrical specialization for the course, after their graduation.
The parade was reviewed by Rear Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, VSM, Chief Staff Officer (Training), Headquarters, Southern Naval Command, who was presented a Guard of Honour that was also witnessed by distinguished guests from Jamnagar and parents of the passing out trainees. Following the march past, Rear Admiral Swaminathan awarded prizes to meritorious officers for excelling in academics, sports and extra-curricular activities.
The Admiral later addressed the parade and congratulated the officers of the passing out course, especially the award winners, and exhorted them to strive for higher professional standards at all times. The Admiral also complimented INS Valsura for imparting quality training and encouraged the unit to live up to its motto – ‘The Light that emanates from here, Illuminates the world’.
