“Kidnap rescue ends with a filmy style chased by West Division cops “.
A team of Cottonpet Police on tuesday rescued a Ten-year-old boy and nabbed his kidnapper from a hotel in Lavelle road within one and half hours of receiving a complaint in the matter.
According to the police,a Ten-year-old boy was kidnapped near his school by the kidnapper on tuesday.
The accused has been identified as Chirag R Mehta,21,year old resident of Basavanagudi and hails from Punjab.
The accused has relocated from his native and is staying with his parents in Bengaluru.The accused was influenced by getting inspired with TV shows of crime serials and plotted a plan to kidnap a rich kid so that he can earn easy money and lead a lavish lifestyle.
The boy’s father owns an electric shop in chickpet and resides at cottonpet main road.The accused’s father runs a wedding card shop near the victim’s residence.
The father of the boy noticed that his child has not returned from school he rushed to cottonpet police station to register a complaint,after sometime the father of the boy received a phone call from the kidnapper who demanded ransom amount of Rs 5 lakhs and threatened of dire consequences and said that if they informed to police he would kill the child.
DCP West,Ramesh Banoth,told media persons,that a complaint of minor boy abducted was registered in cottonpet police station in which the complainant stated that his ten year old child who went to school has not returned back to house and he even stated that he has got a call from the kidnapper who stated that he has kidnapped his son near by school and the kidnapper has demanded ransom of Rs.5 lakh to release his child.
Ramesh said,as soon as the complaint was registered special teams were led under the supervision of ACP,Chickpet Sub-Division,Mahanth Reddy NR,one team headed by cottonpet police inspector,TC Venkatesh,and another team headed by Chamarajpet police inspector,BG Kumaraswamy and their crime staff swung into action.
The special teams headed by cottonpet and Chamarajpet inspector,tracked the phone call of the accused and based on the technical inputs they traced him to a hotel in Lavelle road.As soon as they found the kidnapper and noticed the child is safe they split into two teams and surrounded the area and zeroed in on the accused.
During the course of interrogation the accused has confessed the crime and he said that he knew the child as he used to oftenly go to his shop and in the pretext of taking him on a ride on the scooter he kidnapped the child and after a detailed investigation it has come to light the accused wanted to earn easy money and lead a lavish life so he decided to kidnap a rich child.
So with the exemplary work done by the team we have nabbed the accused within one and half hours of the crime reported and rescued the child safely.Finally Bengaluru Police commissioner,Bhaskar Rao,Addl CP,West,Umesh kumar,has appreciated, DCP,West,Ramesh Banoth,ACP,Chickpet Sub-Division,Mahanth Reddy NR,and his team as,PIs,as,TC Venkatesh,BG Kumaraswamy,PSIs,as,Murthy,and Kariyanna and their crime staff as,Srinivasmurthy,Kumar,Devaraj,and Ashok Chauhan has been successful in rescuing the minor child safely and nabbing the kidnapper and a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
