The CCB officials on Friday arrested a 27 year old bookie who is running online cricket gambling racket .
The accused has been identified as,Anees Basha resident of KR Puram.
Senior officer told media persons that,our team received a tip off that a bookie who is receiving bets through online from punters is waiting near Ayyappa Nagar to receive money from punters.
Acting on the tip- off a team swung into action and rushed to spot and caught the bookie red handed while he was waiting for punters to receive money near Ayyappanagar in KR Puram on Friday.
During interrogation the accused confessed the amount and revealed that he was surfing online cricket betting racket website and based on the inputs he was receiving bets from punters for the ongoing big bash League matches.
A detailed investigation by the team it is revealed that the accused Anees Basha a resident of KR Puram was involved in betting of previous cricket matches also a case has been registered and further investigation is on.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated,Joint CP Crime,Sandeep Patil, DCP Crime-1,KP Ravikumar,ACP, Hanumantharaya,and his team as PI,AP kumar and other staff who has successfully nabbed the bookie and recovered 3 lakhs cash and a mobile phone from him he added.
