Haresh Sangtani named Associate Vice President of TTFI

Gujarat: Recognising the hard work of Gujarat State Table Tennis Association, the national body, Table Tennis Federation of India nominated Haresh Sangtani as the Associate Vice President. The TTFI elections held earlier this week, Dushyant Chautala (32), who is also the Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana, was re-elected as the president of the national body.

The veteran administrator of Gujarat TT, Sangtani has been instrumental in developing the game in the region. Under the guidance of GSTTA president Vipul Mittra, IAS, Sangtani has developed the game and produced national and international level players in the last one decade, including Asian Games medalists Harmeet Desai and Manav Thakkar.

Congratulating Sangtani for his selection, GSTTA president Mittra said, “He is a very loyal and hard working member. I am fortunate to have him as a secretary in the state association. He has been virtually running the show (organising tournaments) single-handedly. He deserves a position in the national body,” said Mittra.

Meanwhile, the Federation also nominated TTAA’s Secretary Kushal Sangtani was nominated as Associate Joint Secretary. “I am very thankful to TTFI for the confidence they have placed in nominating me as the Associate secretary. This is a huge responsibility for me and I certainly look forward to serving table tennis to the best of my ability,” said Kushal.

The GSTTA president also showered praise on young Kushal. “He is young but has displayed great administrative skills. It will not be an exaggeration to say, like father, like son. Whether it was ATTU 30th Table Tennis Asian Cup-2017 or National Ranking tournament last year, Kushal has shown a lot of maturity while working behind the scenes. Whether it was administrative work or players’ problems, he has worked with focus and delivered. I congratulate him and wish him good luck,” said Mittra.
