Union Home Minister’s special operation medals announced,12 policemen including 2 IPS to be conferred

Highlights :

* Police who have cracked down on terrorism and terrorism.

* Special Operations Award for Police Officers and Staff awarded annually by the Department of Home Affairs

* This time,two IPS officers from the state including 12 police officers and staff.

As many as 12 policemen from the state conferred union Home Minister special operation medal for their outstanding investigation skill for the year 2021.

While 11 officers are from the Karnataka state,and DIG,Sonia Narang who served the state police and currently in central agency has also been chosen for the award for the outstanding investigation done by Sonia Narang in solving the Pulwama attack case .

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 16 personnel of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have been awarded medals this year.And they included senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Sonia Narang.

Regarding Sonia Narang an official said,Senior IPS officer,Sonia Narang who took concrete action against the pan-India network of Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISKP) during her tenure in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also been choosen by Home Ministry.For the Special Operations Medal.

The officer said,Narang,a 2002 batch IPS officer, was awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Services during this year’s Republic Day for successfully resolving the 2019 Pulwama attack.She is presently posted as Additional Director in Enforcement Directorate (ED).”

Recruitment of youths in South India to strengthen the ‘ISIS’ organization,the arrest of Dr Abdur Rehman,Irfan Nasir from MS Ramaiah Hospital DIG Sonia Narang, has played a vital role when the officer was deputed at NIA a joint operation was done by the then ISD,SP, Santhosh Babu along with Sanjayanagar Inspector G.Balaraju who was in ISD during the special operation Assistant Sub-Inspector,Shoukath Ali, head constable,P Somashekar has been awarded the award for their concrete action in nabbing the duo.

Meanwhile, 260 personnel of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) have also been awarded medals this year.

ITBP spokesperson Vivek Pandey said, “In recognition of their indomitable courage and devotion to duty, 260 personnel of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) were awarded the Union Home Minister’s Special Operation Medal on National Integration Day,2021.This is for various special operations carried out by the force in Eastern Ladakh.

The other officials being rewarded includes, Santosh Babu K,DCP, intelligence,G,Balaraju, inspector,internal security division,presently as Sanjaynagar police inspector,M Shoukath Ali,ASI,ISD,P Somashekhar,HC,ISD,Shivakumar,P, Inspector,Kumaraswamy layout police station, Sudarshan HV,Jayanagar,PI,Fakhruddin Kundi, HC,Anti-terrorist Cell,Mahesh Prasad,Police Inspector,CCB,Akbar Yadrami,police constable , Ullala police station,mangaluru,Sridhar SR,Circle Inspector of Police,Hommavara,Uttara Kannada, Krishna Devu Gouda,head constable,Honnavara, Uttara kannada.

Karnataka Chief Minister, Basavaraj Bommai,Home Minister,Araga Jnanendra with, Senior police officials congratulated the awarded police personnel and shared the proud moment.
