The Narcotics wing of the CCB officials on Saturday arrested a drug peddler and recovered Marijuana worth Rs 5 lakh from him.
The accused has been identified as,Imran Sharif,30year old.
Senior officer told reporters,The Anti-Narcotics Wing sleuths received a tip off that a person is waiting to deliver the narcotics substance to his clients near Bagalur.
Based on a tip off,a team of police raided the place and arrested the accused from Begur main road where he was waiting for his clients.
During investigation the accused confessed the crime and said that he used to source the drugs from his contact in Andhra Pradesh and smuggle it into city by road and sell it to his clients who are students and migrant labourers .
The accused would pack the drugs in small plastic covers and offer Rs.1,500 to Rs.2,000 per every 20 grams Pack.
A case has been registered in Bagaluru police against the accused under NDPS Act and taken into custody for further investigations to ascertain his network.
Finally Bengaluru police commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Joint CP Crime,Raman Gupta,DCP Crime-1,Dr SD Sharanappa,and his whole team for nabbing the drug peddler and a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
