The Shidlaghatta police cracked a murder case of a 43-year-old realtor which was staged as road accident by the assailant to conceal the crime .
However when the police checked the Call Record Details of the deceased they stumbled upon the number with repeated calls and grew suspicious and Summoned Venkatesh,29,to station for inquiry.
Senior officer said that Venkatesh,a labourer , owned a piece of land part of ancestral property shared between him and his elder brother Nagesh.
The brothers used to have difference over the property and used to fight regularly on this issue.
Venkatesh assume that Nagesh using the influence of Chikka Anjinappa would take over his share of property and decided to eliminate Chikka Anjinappa.
As perthe plan Venkatesh stalked Chikka Anjinappa and called him many times on his mobile numbers to know his location on the pretect of meeting him for some work .
Unsuspecting Anjinappa gave him the location and Venkatesh was following him on Narayanadasarahalli on Chimangala road on 10.30 on June 2 while he was returning home from work .
Venkatesh confronted him on the isolated road and hit him on his head with a branch of eucalyptus tree.
Due to the sudden blow on the head Anjinappa sustained severe head injuries and slipped from his bike and breath his last.
The next day,the Shidlaghatta rural police recovered the body and assumed that it was self accident.
However as part of the investigations when police began to track down his movement moment before his death,they stumbled upon Venkatesh mobile number with unusual number of calls.
The police when checked the background they realized that Venkatesh and Anjinappa were not in talking terms due to latter’s proximity with Nagesh.
This is a turning point for the police which turned the case around.Mithun Kumar G K , Chikkaballapura Superintendent of Police, appreciated the team for the good piece of investigation.
