Nomination of Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala,to the Rajya Sabha reflects a qualitative change in thinking,Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.
Speaking to media persons Bommai said, nomination of Dr Heggade is an honour for Karnataka.
He has been serving society selflessly for decades. He is a role model for others as his work for welfare of the people is on par with a state government. His nomination would raise the stature of Rajya Sabha.
Prime Minister Modi has been identifying great achievers in various fields and honouring them.
The same is evident in selection of achievers for Padma awards too.The recent choice of Smt.Draupadi Murmu as the Presidential candidate of NDA is another example for this qualitative change in thinking,Bommai said.
