S aying that there are a lot of opportunities for India to conquer space,Chief Minister,Basavaraj Bommai stressed on undertaking research that will help the coming generation to lead a healthy life.
Speaking at a function organised in connection with the inauguration of Integrated Cryogenic Engines Manufacturing Facility and Aerospace Division which is attended by President Droupadi Murmu here on Tuesday,he said the state has formulated the Aerospace,R&D and Defence policies, and the government is ready to extend all co-operation to take up research works.
Karnataka is moving on the new paths of science and innovation. The slogan of the State has been ‘New Karnataka for New India’.Science has the quality of expanding continuously, and there is no full stop for it.
One innovation will lead to much research. But research must be taken for the welfare of mankind.
The outer space has always been a source for imaginations and because of which the space was always attractive for human beings.India is not inferior to anyone in the science field”.
The CM said since time immemorial,India has been involved in the discovery of space.Arya Bhatta had undertaken much research in this regard and his works have been the source of inspiration for today’s innovations.
Today, India is not inferior to any other country in the field of science. We have put hundreds of satellites in orbit and have reached the stage of putting the commercial satellites in space.
Cryogenic engines have been the subject of discussion in the last four to five decades and only a few nations have developed it.
Space technology was restricted only to a few nations. There would be a lot of discussion on the materials used in Cryogenic Engines. The research of it has been a biggest achievement.
Subsequently, they have found out a way to inject fuel. This has been achieved by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Hitherto, the country was importing the Cryogenic Engines as they required for their satellites. As per the slogan of ‘Atmanirbhar’ declared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, now India has stood on the highest pedestal .
It was happy to note that India has joined a list of countries that would manufacture the Cryogenic engines.
Thanks to the presence of ISRO and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL),Bengaluru is considered as the country’s ‘space city’.
Nearly,65 percent of the Aerospace parts are exported from here and around 60 percent of defense equipment are manufactured here and 25 percent of aerospace parts are manufactured in Bengaluru.
So,Bengaluru has emerged as the mother of Space Technology and Hub.Working with ISRO and HAL together was beneficial too.ISRO is developing the hybrid cryogenic engines and it will be soon manufactured by HAL.
He said Karnataka was ahead in health science and the maximum numbers of research centres, medical colleges,NIMHANS,Kidwai,National level children’s hospitals,R&D labs are in Bengaluru.
In one year,as many as 200 laboratories and RT-PCR Centres have been established, the CM said.
Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot,Union Health Minister, Bharati Pawar,HAL Chairman Ananthkrishna and ISRO Chairman Somnath and Health Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar were present.
