midst heavy downpour ‘Karnataka Ratna’,the state government’s highest civilian award, was presented posthumously to Power Star Dr Puneet Raj Kumar in the presence of scores of his fans here on Tuesday.
Presented this award after a gap of 13 years, Ashwini Puneet Raj Kumar,wife of late actor Puneet Raj Kumar,received the prestigious ‘Karnataka Ratna’award.
The presence of Tamil Superstar,Rajnikanth and Telugu actor,Junior NTR added glory to the function which was cut short due to rain.
Scores of fans,noted personalities from the Kannada film world and family members of Dr Raj Kumar were present to witness this award presentation.
Speaking on the occasion,Rajnikanth termed Puneet Raj Kumar as ‘son of god’.
Junior NTR said he was present not for his achievement but for his close friend.The duo spoke in Kannada and won the hearts of scores of Kannadigas.
Chief Minister,Basavaraj Bommai said the state government felt it was a privilege to present the prestigious ‘Karnataka Ratna’ to Dr Puneet Raj Kumar.

Infosys Foundation Chairperson,Dr Sudhamurty, noted Kannada actor,Shivrajkumar,Raghavendra Raj Kumar,family members of Dr Raj Kumar, ministers and others were present.
