Second Parcel Cargo Express Train Of Bengaluru Division Started

The second Parcel Cargo Express train (PCET) of Bengaluru Division started Yesterday (21.12.2022) from Yesvantpur Railway Station to Sanahwal in Ludhiana District of Punjab.

Contract for operating the PCET on round trip basis from Yesvantpur -Sanahwal-Yesvantpur has been awarded to Inland World Logistics Pvt.Ltd.,for a period of 06 years.

The lease holder will operate PCET with a frequency of one round trip per week.Composition of PCET is 15 parcel vans for the first 06 months and 20 parcel vans for the remaining period.

Railways will get an anticipated revenue of about Rs.118 Cr in 6 years.Railways will be able to improve the capacity utilisation of parcel vans, provide a major impetus to the supply chain across the country and indirectly generate employment for 500 members through this initiative.

Lease holder is likely to load pharmaceutical goods, spices,fabrics,readymade garments,personal care products,consumer products and cargo.

The first PCET of the Division which is operating between Yesvantpur-Tughlakabad-Yesvantpur was flagged off on 23rd October.
