11-year old boy electrocuted to death due to high tension wire while flying kite in RT Nagar,Case booked against BBMP,BESCOM and KPTCL

A 11-year-old boy died of electrocution when he came in contact with high tension wire while flying kite in Vishveshwaraiah layout in Chamundi nagar in RT Nagar on Monday evening.

The victim Abubakar was playing with kite at a near-by park close to the multi-storeyed residential building.

The kite entangled with a high tension wire passing through the building and Abubakar claimed on to the terrace with the help of mesh and compound of the park .

While getting the kite he came in contact with high tension wire and collapsed with severe burn injuries .

Passers-by noticed rushed to his help and shifted him to Victoria hospital where Abubakar succumbed on Tuesday night.

Abubakar is the youngest among the three children . the complainant Sultana,a single parents and domestic help filed a complaint against the KPTCL,BBMP and BWSSB officials accusing them of negligence which led to the death.

In her complaint Sultana said that the KPTCL should have drawn the high tension lines in the residential area which were dangerously close to the building.

The BBMP are culpable for sanctioning building permission and BESCOM officials are also booked for granting connection to the illegal structures .

Based on the complaint, the RT Nagar police have registered an FIR against the officials of KPTCL,BBMP and BESCOM charging them under death due to negligence.
