The Rajanukunte police on Wednesday arrested a 32-year-old goods van driver for stabbing a college student to death for refusing his marriage proposal .
The accused Madhuchandra,a native of Ananthpura , was working as goods van driver while the victim Rashi, 19, resident of Shanabhoganahalli was pursuing first year BA at a private college in Yalahanka .
Senior officer said,Rashi would also work at the guava farm with her mother,where she met the accused and were friends.The accused being marriage and having a child, proposed Rashi but she refused.
Enraged by this Madhuchandra decided to kill her,as per the plan he followed Rashi who was herding cattle back to her house on Tuesday evening.
The accused confronted Rashi and stabbed her before fleeing the spot.Injured Rashi managed to walk few yards and collapsed before her grandmother .
She was later rushed to hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.Based on the complaint, the Rajanukunte police rushed to the spot and recovered a bluetooth devise left behind by the accused in a hurry while fleeing the spot .
The accused was later track down and arrested.The police recovered the knife and investigating further .
It may be recalled that on January 2 ,19-year-old , Layasmitha,a BTech student was allegedly stabbed by her friend multiple times at the Presidency university campus on the outskirts.
The police arrested Pawan Kalyan, 21 , who also tried attempted to end life.
