The Subramanyapura police on thursday busted an inter-state fake currency racket and arrested four people running the racket for the last one month.
Senior officer told reporters,the scam was busted when based on a tip off,a team of police led by PSI Raghu Naik,caught,Charan Singh B,47,and his relative Rajaputna
Rajni,38,who were trying to circulate the currency notes in a car.
The police recovered Rs.4 lakh worth 8 bundles of currency notes from the car.The accused would move around the city to push the fake currency into the market at the busy market,restaurants and petrol pumps,movie theatres and malls .
Based on their information,the police raided the house in Ananthpura where Raju and his assistant Gopi were printing the notes.The police seized Rs.6.25 lakh worth currency notes of 500 denominations from them.
During investigation it was found that prime accused identified as Raju from Ananthpur in AP is high school drop out learnt the art of printing fake currency by watching videos of social media.
The accused worked for six months to master the skill and printed Rs.500 denomination notes so perfect with water marks and security features which looked like genuine.
Even the quality of paper used by the accused nearly matches with the genuine currency notes,he said.
The accused confessed that they have circulated fake currency in different places including Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
The accused said to have circulated the currency in other cities too which is being probed he added.
Meanwhile Basavangudi Police inspector Subramanyaswamy ML and his team nabbed two person and busted inter-state drug peddling racket and recovered 116 kgs of Ganja worth Rs.44 lakhs.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,CH Pratap Reddy,has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil, DCP South,P Krishnakant,ACP,N Pavan,KV Srinivas,PIs,as, Subramanyaswamy ML,Manjunath KR,PSIs,as,Raghu Nayak,Srinivas KR,and crime staff as, Gurumurthy,Venkatesh,Pradeep,Basavaraju,Manju Nayak,Basavaraju,Smt.Yashodha,and other staff has been appreciated for their excellent work and for the exemplary work done by them by busting the inter-state fake currency printing and circulating racket and drug racket
a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
