A Tiny step is laid towards creating history by Women Employees of Aircondition (AC) Depot of Bengaluru Division on International Women’s Day.
Smt Kavitha,Tech/AC,Smt Vandana,Tech/AC,Smt Raichel Ullaji,Helper/AC and Smt Kalpana,Helper/AC started woking as All Women AC Accompanying staff in Prestigious Train No 12027/12028 Bengaluru Chennai Shatabdi express which left KSR Bengaluru today (08.03.2023).
The four women employees carried out strenuous works like connecting power supply (The Head On Generation Connection) from loco to Power car before departure of the train.
AC Accompanying duties will be carried out by women employees regularly hereafter.
The employees were given rigorous and committed training for the past 3 weeks for carrying out accompanying duties.
Previously, all the four women employees nominated for accompanying duties were involved in maintenance activities for a very long period.
Many women Staff of Bengaluru Division are involved with dedication in arduous and complex works.
Smt.K G Vathasala and Smt.R Pavithra,Technicians of CGS (Control Gear Section) in Loco Shed, Krishnarajapuram operate a complex equipment like 70 KVA high tension Breakdown Voltage (BDV) testing kit used in the maintenance of AC locomotives.
They are the first women employees in Indian Railways who carry out BDV Kit operations.Normally this equipment is operated by male staff due to its complexity of testing and high voltage.
The CGS has nine women Staff including Smt.K G Vathasala and Smt.R Pavithra,who are involved in overhauling and testing Electrical and Electronic control equipments of Diesel and Electrical Locomotives.
