T he Lokayukta officials on Tuesday trapped and arrested PSI and constables attached to Ranebennur police station,red handed while accepting a bribe from a suspect in a property dispute case in return for an official favour.
The accused PSI Sunil B Teli and constable Sachin Olekar,demanded Rs 50,000 from Afroz Ahmed not to proceed against him in a property dispute case filed against him by his sister-in-law.
The duo negotiated the bribe amount to Rs 40,000 and asked him to pay the amount to a tea stall owner Santosh Shetty,close to the station.
Unable to pay the brine,Afroz Ahmed approached Lokayukta and filed complaint .
Based on the complaint the Sleuths laid a trap and caught the duo red handed and booked them under PC Act.
The Lokayukta police also recorded the statement of Santosh shetty for further investigations.
