A 58-year-old priest of temple situated near Okhalipuram helped Kalasipalya police to arrest a 25-year-old woman who had stolen a 42 days old baby from Kalasipalya and was on the run on Saturday morning.
The accused idetified as Nandini alias Ayesha,wife of Asif and resident of Shivajinagar and native of Mulabagilu had stolen 42-days-old baby girl Aayath from the house while she was sleeping with her mother in the house in Durgamma street in Kalasipalya on Saturday morning.
The mother Farheen was sleeping with the baby with the main door open while her husband Nadeem Sheikh was away at work.
The accused gained entry into the house picked up the baby girl and took away the phone and escaped .
The mother woke up few minutes later and found the baby was missing along with the mobile phone.She alerted her husband who filed a complaint with the police.
The Kalasipalya police sounded alert and started searching for the baby,the accused managed to reach Gangamma Mariyamma temple in Okhalipuram near railway quarters and sitting outside the temple .
The priest of the temple Bhoopalan meanwhile noticed the woman and on suspicion inquired her for which the accused concocted a story that she has lost her way and wanted to go to Mangaluru.
Bhoopalan even got her food to eat and found the baby was no moving for a long time .
Suspecting something fishy he obtained the phone number of her husband and spoke to him.The person who was on the other side,spoke to Bhoopalan and told him that she had a fight and left the house .
Upon asking for the location,the accused gave a different address which led him suspect something fishy.
He called his friends Balu Subramanium,Vishnu, Nagamma and Hemanth who came and questioned the woman and found she is lying .
While she started giving different version everytime , Bhoopalan called the police and narrated what had happened.
A police team from Magadi road police station rushed to the spot and detained the accused and rescued the baby .
The baby was later taken to the hospital for treatment and later handed over to the parents.
Lakshman Nimbargi,DCP,West,visited the station and thanked Bhoopalan and his friends for helping the police to crack the case.
The police have taken the accused Nandini alias Ayesha suspected to be part of the child kidnap racket and investigating to ascertain her network.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner CH Pratap Reddy has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil, DCP West,Laxman B Nimbargi,ACP,KC Giri, PIs,Manjegowda,Raju MS Gowda,and their whole team with priest and his friends has been appreciated for their timely action which helped the cops to nab the woman and rescue the Stolen Baby and safely reunited to the family members and a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
