n an effort to make the city a safer place with full focus on law and order,crime investigation and traffic management,said Director General and Inspector General of Police,Dr Alok Mohan.
Speaking to media after interacting with the senior police officers at the police commissioner’s office,he said that the police have been instructed to improve the behaviour while dealing with the members of the general public and receive and handle every complaint or petition or grouses they receive at the station amicably.
The senior police officials have been instructed to visit the stations regularly and interact with the people visiting the station the police officials must display contact numbers of all the police officials at the station.
If any police officials failed to handle the complaints he received strict action will be initiated against him,Mr. Alok Mohan,warned.
Apart from this fake news and hate messages and rumours being spread in social media will be strictly monitored by special wing of the police and action will be initiated against them, he said.
The purpose is to improve the functioning of the police in blore city and across the state in general,Mr.Mohan reiterated.
Police stations are the fundamental delivery system of the department the aim is to ensure that they will deliver the services and redress the grievances impartiality and efficiently.
Senior police officials have been directed to ensure that people coming to the station with any grievances be heard and addressed .
He also advised them to visit spots of serious offences and guide the subordinates in investigations.
Further, Alok Mohan asked them to strengthen the beat system and increase vigil and patrolling in crime prone areas.
The DG&IGP said the police will increase focus on social media posts to tackle the menace of spreading fake information.We will take cognisance of posts based on their content,he added.
