A 53-year-old labourer hacked his wife to death before ending his life at his house over a domestic row in Bikanahalli in Sarjapura on Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as Venkataswamy and deceased Lakshmmamma.The couple had two daughters who are married and living separate .
Senior officer told reporters the couple used to have frequent fights over trivial row .On Tuesday after a fight Venkataswamy hacked Lakshmmamma with a chopper killing her on the spot and later consumed poison to end his life.
The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when neighbours noticed no response from the couple and went to check on them and alertd the police.
The Sarjapura police rushed to the spot and conducted a spot inspections before alerting the daughters .
Based on the complaint the police have registered a case of murder and suicide for further investigations.
