Six people were killed on the spot when the SUV they were travelling collided head on with a KSRTC bus near Kemmale gate in Sathanur on Monday.
Due to the impact the SUV was mangled and passers-by struggled to remove the jammed doors to pull the bodies out .
The front portion of the bus was also damaged and few passengers along with the driver BT Nagaraj sustained injuries and admitted to hospital.They are said to be out of danger .
The incident occurred at around 4.45 pm when the bus belonging to Kanakapura unit,heading to Halaguru.
The victims,said to be from in and around Kanakapura and working in Vidhana Soudha and Legislature house had gone to visit temple in MM Hills and returning home.
Senior officer and a driver, said that the over speeding SUV was driving in rash and negligent manner lost control and rammed into the bus.
The police along with the people with the help of crane pulled out the vehicle off the road to clear the traffic.
The bodies have been shifted to the hospital and the Sathanur police have registered a case against the driver for further investigations.
