Commission menace in Dasara: Former CM Basavaraj Bommai bemoans over dent to the State’s image

Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai regretted that the image of Karnataka has been dented following reports of demanding commission from the noted Sitar maestro Pandit Rajiv Taranath to give him a chance to perform in this year’s Dasara celebrations.

In a series of tweet, the former CM said, the government which was collecting the commission for the transfer of officials and making payment to contractors, has now extended to the Mysore Dasara.

The state’s prestige had gone for a toss after some a few officials demanded the sitar maestro to pay money to give him the chance to perform in Dasara. This kind of corrupt government was never seen in post-independent India.

Since Pandit Taranath himself made this public before the media, the government must take stern action against those officers who demanded the commission from the great artist.
