As part of the election campaign, on Monday afternoon, Prabhakar Reddy went to Surampally after campaigning in Gajulapalli, Dommata and Mutyampeta in Daultabad mandal of Siddipet district. Pastor Anjaiah was visited there. When he came to the car to leave, some locals took selfies with him. At the same time, Gattani Raju (38) from Peddchepyala of Mirudoddi Mandal reached out from behind to shake hands with the MP and suddenly took out a knife from his pocket and stabbed the MP in the right stomach. Prabhakar, the gunman who was with the MP, immediately got up and grabbed Raju and pulled out the sword. The MP was taken to Gajwel Government Hospital in a car by the activists and the doctors gave stitches. As per their instructions, Prabhakar Reddy was taken to Secunderabad Yashoda Hospital. The doctors of Yashoda said that Kotha Prabhakar Reddy was stabbed in the stomach with a knife and suffered severe injury to the small intestine and severe bleeding in the stomach itself.
After the emergency treatment of the MP, the doctors issued a health bulletin. ‘At first it was thought that the injury was on the stomach… CT scan revealed that the knife wound reached the inside of the stomach. As the accused swung the knife back and forth, the intestine entered and caused the injury. About 10 cm of intestine was completely damaged. An open laparotomy was performed and the damaged intestine was removed. It took three and a half hours. After that we moved to ICU. He explained that although his health is stable now, he has to be treated for another week to ten days. The doctors said that he is currently being treated in the post-operative surgical critical care unit. The police, health care and other services personnel who took the initiative in taking the MP to the hospital in time were appreciated. He explained that any delay in such cases could lead to intestinal ischemia, peritonitis and other problems which could be fatal. A special medical team consisting of ten people under the leadership of Dr. TLVD Prasad Babu, a surgical gastroenterology doctor of the hospital, is examining the health condition of MP from time to time.
KCR visited
After visiting Kamareddy and Sangareddy districts, Chief Minister KCR reached the hospital around 8 pm and visited Prabhakar Reddy. Hospital MD GS Rao and other doctors were inquired about his health condition. They were advised to provide better treatment. Minister Harish Rao was directed to review the health condition of Prabhakar Reddy from time to time. Prabhakar Reddy consoled the family members. He assured that the government will stand by the party not to worry. The incident will be fully investigated and action will be taken. The accused worked in online magazines and YouTube channels
According to the police and villagers, Raju, who tried to kill the MP, has been wandering around since the beginning. He studied up to seventh standard. He has worked in various online magazines and YouTube channels. He joined the Congress during the 2018 elections. He is currently not active in that party. There are allegations that he was involved in illegal activities and extortion by threatening many people as a journalist. When the villagers filed a complaint in Mirudoddi police station three years ago, they were reprimanded and left. The accused was addicted to alcohol. It seems that he bought a knife in a shop in Mirudoddi on Monday morning. The villagers said that they attacked the MP out of anger that his name was not in the list of journalists who were entitled to house plots along with Dalit bandh. The police took Raju to Daultabad police station. Police Commissioner Shweta inspected the area where the incident took place. At the accused’s house in Peddchepyal, the police organized picketing under the direction of Dubbaka CI to prevent any untoward incidents from happening in the village.
