n a special drive carried out by Traffic North Division of Rajajinagar Traffic cops against bike stunts,the Rajajinagar traffic police nabbed five people who were wheeling on outer ring road endangering other motorists.
Senior officer told reporters,Based on a series of complaint,the Rajajinagar Traffic Inspector Mohammed Ali deployed a special team on the outer ring road and the team utilising police technology skills and gathered information about the wheelie Wonkers.
Team led by ACP,Pruthvi MJ under the supervision of PI, Mohammed Ali the team camped day and night police team headed by Nagaraj swung into action and after tireless efforts they managed to catch five people near Dr.Rajkumar Samadhi and Laggere Bridge and caught the biker red handed while they were performing bike stunts.
The accused have been brought to the station and booked them under rash and negligent driving and seized the bikes .
There was a growing trend in the city where gangs not only performing bike stunts on the busy road, endangering the safety of motorists but also recording their stunts on mobile phone to be uploaded on social media, a senior officer, said.
Many violators caught performing the dangerous acts are minors following which their parents have been summoned and slapped fines and booked cases against them.
Some of the youth have borrowed the bikes to perform stunts without the knowlege of the owners.Such instances the owners of the bikes have been booked. The drive to contain bike stunts in the area will continue and strict action will be taken against those wheelie stunt riders.
Finally Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda,Joint CP Traffic, MN Anucheth,has appreciated DCP Traffic North,Sachin Ghorpade,and his team as,ACP,North Traffic,Pruthvi MJ,PI,Mohammed Ali and his team as,Nagaraj,Manju Gudihal,Mallikarjun and Dhananjaya,for their meticulous investigation and tireless efforts in nabbing the notorious wheelie Wonkers who were endangering others life by their dangerous stunts as this team camped in the area day and night to nab these Wonkers a special reward will be given to whole team for the exemplary work done by them he added.
