The Northeast division cyber crime police on Tuesday busted a online job racket and arrested a gang four college drop outs who were cheating gullible people with online jobs and high returns of the investments.
With their arrest,the police have solved as many as 305 cases reported against them across the country.Probe revealed that the accused have so far amassed as much as Rs.40 crore which revealed from the transactions of 30 bank accounts the accused were operating .
At the time of arrest the police recovered Rs.60 lakh from different accounts along with four mobile phones several SIM cards.
The accused would avail mule accounts for the fraudulent transactions,borrowed from gullible people in return of some money on monthly basis.
The accused would also roped in a SIM card dealer who would provide them hundreds of SIM Cards after registering them with the Ids of other customers who has submitted to purchase the SIMs eariler.
A special team led by DCP North East Division, Lakshmiprasad,BM,Inspector Mallikarjuna M track down the accused based on bank accounts transactions.
City police commissioner,B.Dayananda appreciated the police team for cracking the case.
