Government hospital doctor booked for medical negligence following death of newborn after caesarean procedure

The Malleshwaram police on Monday booked a doctor of KC General hospital under medical negligence following the death of a newborn after caeserean procedure.

The family of the patients accused the doctor not only delay in performing the surgery but also accused that the doctor had demanded bribe .

According to the complaint,the patient identified as Devika from Chokkasandra was admitted to the hospital for delivery after full term pregnancy on Sunday.

The family requested the doctor to perform caesarean for the delivery but the doctor allegedly asked the family that they will do the normal procedure for the delivery and prolonged it till evening.

As a result the patient developed complication and the doctor finally get the caesarean procedure.Soon after the delivery the baby developed complication and shifted to ICU where it succumbed .

Furious family members created ruckus and accused the negligence of the doctor led to the death of the new born baby, However the doctor refused to admit the alleged negligence following which the police have subjected the new born for post mortem to ascertain the cause of death.

Based on the post -mortem report necessary action will be initiated senior officer told reporters.
