hief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday directed the city police to strengthen the beat police system to create peaceful and fearless atmosphere while maintaining law and order in the city.
Addressing the meeting with the police officials who had come to visit him,Mr.Siddaramaiah said that the crime rate has come down during the congress government tenure and asked the police officials to work hard to maintain law and order and peace .
Though crimes can not be stopped but can be prevented effectively,he said .
The beat system which is core to the basic policing should be strengthened and drug menace should be contained through collective efforts and effective implimentation.
The 241 hoysala team patrolling the city should be worked more responsibly.He warned police personnel having links with realtors or anti social elements and said that the government will initiate strict action.
People lose hope of police if they found having links with realtors and involving in anti social activities .
Police should take strict action against rowdy elements and those who take law into their hands, he said .
Mr. Siddaramaiah complimented city police for providing better security arrangements to ensure peaceful new year celebrations .
City police commissioner,Mr.Dayananda, assured Chief Minister that city police will work hard to ensure peaceful atmosphere and better law and order situation.
