Bommai demands a special team to probe the Haveri Moral policing incident
Accusing the state government of having a double standard on the Haveri Moral policing incident, former chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai questioned the silence of the incumbent CM Siddaramaiah on this incident who had been talking loud of the moral policing in coastal areas of the State.
Even the government was treading the path of dual policy in giving protection to the victim who belongs to the Minority community.
Talking to reporters here on Friday,he said the girl had been gang raped but the Haveri cops initially ruled out that offence and invoked the various section of law that would give the bail to the miscreants.
Now,the girl has openly stated that she had been sexually abused and the case became serious. The victim must undergo the medical test afresh.
The CM claims himself as the champion of minorities but a woman belonged to the Minority community had been sexually assaulted. The government was not even coming forward to give protection to her.
Bommai said there had been 30 per cent increase in the crimes in the last nine months.Similar incidents in the past has been hushed up.
The Haveri incident must be probed seperately. An investigation team must be constituted to probe the Haveri incident.
Illegal posts
The BJP leader said the State has been experiencing a severe drought and the state government was silent without taking any steps to mitigate the problems of people.
The CM claims that the state’ s financial position was good and in that case why no funds has been released for the drought management, construction of school building and other development works.
The Governor has approved releasing Rs.3000 crore to the Kalyana Karnataka Development Board and not a rupee has been released so far.
Now the government was using the Congress Party workers to implement the guarantee schemes as they had forgotten them all these days.
To pacify them, the government was giving them the constitutional posts illegally to allow the corruption open.
He said the State Cabinet must seriously think over giving the cabinet status to those In-charge party workers. The sanctity of the Cabinet would be at stake if not things were allowed in the State.
In regard to the coming parliamentary polls, the former CM said the opinion of all leaders had been collected and most of the sitting MPs would contest again. The party central election committee would take decision on the ticket aspirants.
