A 50-year-old stenographer working in Aranya Bhavan was robbed and murdered on moving train while she was returning home from Shivamogga to city after attending official work on Tuesday night .
The deceased Annapoorna G,was had gone for invigilation work for the department exam held in Shivamogga and returning home in women reserve compartment,which was reportedly empty.
The deceased brother,Bhamhananda Ranade,who was travelling with her to city was traveling in general compartment which was full.
After the train reached city,he tried to call her but the mobile phone was switched off .
Thinking that she might have gone home,Bramhanand went to attend the official work and later realized that Annapoorna did not return home and filed a complaint.
Meanwhile the railway police recovered a body of a woman on railway track near Hirehalli village in Tumakuru and identified the body.
The police later recovered the mobile phone which was switched off along with the bag containing the clothes of Annapoorna.
The ear rings,mangalya chain and pair of bangles she was wearing were missing,which led to the police that she was robbed and push out of the train while resisting the robbery.
The City railway police have taken up a case of robbery and murder and awaiting post-mortem report to ascertain the cause of death .
