Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai complimented the Speaker UT.Khader for making arrangements for the Pourakarmikas to witness the proceedings of the State Legislative Assembly.

Speaking on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address here on Thursday, he said the special has done a great thing by inviting the Pourakarmikas and the LGBT community to the Session and offered them respect.

Besides, the chair had given time for a debate on their problems.By stepping into their shoes they have understood how difficult was to remove the garbage in cities.

Bommai said,When I was the Chief Minister, the services of 11000 Pourakarmikas were regularised and the process is on.But it must pick up the speed or else there is no value in inviting them to the session.

The services of another 34000 Pourakarmikas have to be regularised. When we are in power we must provide opportunities to the last man in society and that must of sensitivity must come for them.

We talk about democracy and the real respect for the House comes when they talk for the voiceless, children and animals.

Every profession must be given respect as it is not for any individual but for the profession. The word Pourakarmikas must be changed with poura naukara”.
