Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai urged the state government to keep under suspension an officer attached to Pandeshwara Police Station for filing a First Information Report against Mangaluru North MLA Bharat Shetty in connection with an incident reported in Mangaluru’s St.Jerose School.
Reacting to Home Minister,Dr G.Parameshwara’s statement on the Mangaluru incident in the State Legislative Assembly here on Thursday,he said in connection with the incident,a complaint has been lodged by Anil Jarab Lobo.
The cops declined to file a FIR based on the complaint given by the parents. The government said the police refused to file the FIR after the preliminary inquiry but the same cops have filed the FIR against the MLA without inquiry.
This clearly showed the disparity while discharging their duty. The cops who filed the FIR against the legislator must be suspended immediately or else it amounted to disparity.
Bommai said the accused teacher has been placed under suspension for which he would compliment the school administration board as they have done a right job. There would be respect for the government if it acts impartial in this regard according to law.
